A play on materials

The sober-lined paper bag came in a large assortment of qualities and colours to be combined with a wide choice of crocodile, shark skin, ostrich, box calf, goatskin, kip leather and other handles.

Very soon afterwards, François Rénier produced the first leather bags and a year later brought out fabric bags made up in the canvases of his native Basque region.

Technical fabrics made their appearance in 2002, followed by pouches, zipped bags and bag charms.

In 2003, François Rénier introduced the first rubber handles, first stitched then riveted, first in single colours, now in up to three colours.

Working with fabric printers and manufacturers, François Rénier places all the materials (linen, furnishing fabrics, braided strips, technical fabrics and so on) creatively in arranged settings as if to celebrate items that are equally as beautiful to behold as they are unexpected such as the champagne bag, boot bag, bouquet tote and tea ceremony bag.
