François Rénier

François Rénier has always been fascinated by human beings and materials and has mingled in leather craft worker circles for over 20 years.

In his travels around the world and through his passion for leather, its texture, feel, hand, smell and sheen he has shaped and cultivated the mastery of leatherwork.

For ten years or so this great admirer of hand-crafted work designed and manufactured luxury small leather goods. Then in 1998, he designed and manufactured a folded paper bag fitted with eyelets, to which he hooked crocodile skin handles.

Un Jour Un Sac was born

The idea was simple with a generous element of fun and went on show for the first time at the Première Classe Fair at the Jardin des Tuileries in October 1998… and the business venture took off.
